ベイエリアのヒップホップ・シーンで才能を磨いてきた、Shing02 と DJ Top Bill の共作 "Avatar" の12inch 盤。"Sun in the Basement" (12inch, 2003) に続く12inch Series 第二弾で、DJ Top Bill のアルバム "Prelude To One Dollar Store" からの先行シングルでもある。"Avatar" は、時間を掛けて煮詰めてきた強力な1曲。そして、カップリングの "Farewell to a Friend" は、2003年にDJ Top Bill のミックステープ "Top Billion Dollar Breaks" の為に録音された曲。カバーは、京都出身のペインター・デュオ、"Doppel" による渾身の作品。
